Congestion surcharge

The State Supreme Court lifted a temporary restraining order on congestion surcharge on January 31, 2019. All persons subject to the surcharge must begin to collect the surcharge from passengers beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019.

Beginning with tax year 2018, you may choose to itemize your deductions on a New York State income tax return even if you do not itemize your deductions on a federal income tax return.

The FY 2019 Budget created a new Charitable Gifts Trust Fund in the joint custody of the New York State Commissioner of Taxation and Finance and the State Comptroller to accept donations for the purposes of improving health care and public education in New York State.
