Sales Tax Web File - optional reporting debit and credit card deposits
Report the total deposits made to your business's bank account by credit and debit card processors. This will not necessarily reconcile with the sales reported for the return filing period. You do not have to adjust these figures for:
- Fees, tips, etc. Report the total amount of deposits from all processors. You don't need to adjust the deposit amount for fees, tips, refunds, or taxable and nontaxable sales.
- Out-of-state sales: Report the total amount of deposits attributable to in-state and out-of-state sales.
The Department of Taxation and Finance now receives information directly from credit card merchant processing banks about debit and credit card transactions of businesses. The Department may use this third party information to assess the accuracy and completeness of your sales tax return.
