Sales price differential factors
The sales price differential factor is the average price of residential property in a county divided by the statewide average. It is used in the calculation of STAR exemption amounts. It is only used for counties where the median residential sales price is higher than the state median, excluding New York City. For each year below. differentials only exist in the counties listed. For counties not listed, the differential is 1.0000 for STAR calculation purposes.
